Can the stock rotating assembly of a 351w support 6000 rpm?

Well I know it can handle it its just a matter of how long and most likely somewhat dependent on the year. Since I'd imagine the roller motors will hold up better to the high RPMs than the late 70s and such. I've spun my stock 302-2v in my '66 past 7000 before and kept it there for a brief period and it has held up great. I'd invest in for sure some good ARP bolts and such. Other things to hold it together would just be making a stronger rotating assembly. Some good strong forged rods, crank, etc.
 
Get good connecting rod bolts like arp. have the rotating assembly balanced. Use high quality bearings. Bearing clearances should be at .oo2 on bolth the mains and rods. Good oil pump with an larger capacity oil pan. Then you are ready for 6000 rpms with great reliability.
 
6 grand shouldn't be a problem. Now as tiresmokinwindsor said, it depends on how long it's gonna be spinnin that rpm. If your's has the early 351W rods with the square cut bolt faces, I'd rethink them. The later ones are much better. The rods are all forged, just some are better than others. I've spun stock 302 rods up to 7500 rpms with ARP bolts without a problem, but i'd be hesitant to do 6500 with stock early 351W rods with or without ARP bolts.
 
I had my shortblock blueprinted by DSS Racing. They installed ARP connectors throughout using studs on the main caps as well as their Girdle assembly. The fella that I spoke with said due to the inherrent strength of the 351W block (size of journals etc) and the way I had mine ordered it was good for an 8K redline. I figure I'm in good shape since my cam and intake will crap out before 6500.
 
I guess I forgot to ask anyone if it would be OK in mine. I have a 70's block with a cast 393 crank, stock rods and KB pistons. I do have ARP rod bolts and had it balanced. I have run it to around 6,500 several times, but not for longer than a few seconds.
