I know what everyone is gonna say, "find another one they are plentiful". i am on a strict budget right now and this is a spare engine im bout to start on. Can it be saved though? im hoping thats the only crack. It ran great, had no water in oil or vise vesa. What would be an average cost to fix and resurface the deck? thanks.

No, that's not worth the trouble at all.even if it's a budget build, the block is not a place to cut corners.

Depends on what you're planning on throwing at it and the condition of everything in the first place.

Are there any differences in the explorer engines? i can get a complete low mile short block out a totaled explorer that someone has already stole the GT40's off of.

Nope...but you'll need a mustang engine to rob parts like oil pan and timing cover and stuff off

Good. I'll just take all the stuff off the spare in the pic with the cracked block.
