Can you change the dash between years?

I'm just curious here. I have always loved the '69 Mach 1 body style, but I just can't stand the dash layout. I know some may like or even love it, but to each their own, I just hate it. So, would it be possible to swap out say a 67-68 style into it? I know there would be cutting and welding involved with it being a metal dash and all, just mostly wondering how the dash pad would fit from side to side, and how it would rest against the windshield. Anyone know about this?

You could always swap for a 69 Cougar dash and cluster. It uses the same lower dash as the Mustang. Center duct for a/c and wiring is different, but it's quite a different (and better IMO) look.

Oddly enough, Hot Rod magazine had an article on Mickey Thompson's '69 Mach I, and since it was built in '68 as a pre-production car, it had an odd mix of parts. One of them was a '68 dash and column. Looked like it fit pretty well to me. I don't remember what issue, but it was either the last one or the one before, it'll be easy to spot since the Mach I is on the cover, in the middle of the Bonneville salt flats.

I looked up on Google what Zookeeper was talking about with Mikey's Mach 1, and it appears to use the '69 dash pad, with the '68 instrument cluster. An improvement I must say, but I'd still like to see something besides the '69 dash pad.

As far as the '69 Cougar, not bad, but not great to me either. Nothing personal.

Any other ideas guys, this is great so far, I love brainstorming ideas!
