Can You Run an Intank Fuel Pump as an Inline Pump?

I have an extra one laying around and I think I need more volume/pressure. The pump is a GSS307 Walbro 255lph. Can I put it inline with my other one? Has anyone done this before with success? Thanks

Actually you can; I have done it. The problem is that it's completely impractical and unsafe. I do not recommend doing it.

The one I modified was on a turbo Briggs & Stratton engine of all things. I never would use it on a car or something I couldn't easily bail out of.
