It was taken to the body shop originally to have the hood fixed. I was on the interstate and a piece of plywood got kicked up when a pickup truck drove over it. It slammed right on the driver side front of the hood. It dented it, cracked the paint then slid across the hood scraping it in several places. Some scratches were down to the bare metal Well, I was fortunate enough to have a spare OEM hood (silver) in the garage I had picked up really cheap about a year ago. I took the silver hood in to have them repaint it since that would be much easier and turn out nicer to repaint a hood rather than try to repair and paint the damaged hood. A few days later they called me saying it was painted and on the car, but weren't happy with the color match. I go there and agree the color is off. They were going to reprep the hood, remix the paint and try it again. I get a call the very next day from the shop owner. He says there has been a problem with my car. The first thing that goes through my head was, "Did they paint the hood yellow?". Boy was my thought wrong! They were moving it into the shop and claim the throttle stuck. I don't buy it at all, but since it wasn't totaled and they were taking care of everything, I wasn't that miffed. I did the moment I walked in and saw it sitting back there half smashed and broken.
It ended up clipping another vehicle with the driver side rear fender which busted their passenger side tail lamp and ripped the bumper clean off, then proceeded to slam into the back wall. All those upgrades weren't even thought of until after the accident. The original plan was to repaint the hood and return the car exactly the way it was. All in all it worked out great for me as I've wanted the Cowl hood and at least the Roush bumper with a BOSS paint scheme at some point in the future. Now I ended up with pretty much everything I wanted done on the exterior and it didn't cost me thousands and thousands out of my pocket to get there
