My son had a complete EFI setup given to him from an 89 GT that the owner converted to carb.

The MAF has a box wired into it's plug, aftermarket.
Most of the lettering is worn off. I don't have it here right now to read what little is left.

It is a plastic box, about 2"x2" square, and about 3/4" thick.
Black plastic, silver foil label, and 2 black wires extending out to MAF plug.
It has 2 sided tape on the back, and looks to have been stuck to engine bay.

I am curious what this may have done, and how.
I assume there is just some sort of resistor inside that tricks the signal from the MAF to the ECM? Is it something to keep or trash?
What could it do in way of changing the MAF signal to ECM?
Would it richen or lean? It couldn't play with timing, could it?

The owner said it did give a noticable change to performance.
Just curious.

It saves fuel and gains power. Check to see if the guy gave him the magnet on the fuel line and the Turbonator that match it.

It's garbage. Just another gimmick that changes sensor values that can do more harm than good.
