Well i have a 66 coupe its my baby. i am only 17 so im a newbie and there is a lot of things i dont know yet. but at least i didnt do like all my friends and buy a ricer with all show no go. so i got my car and it needed a new interior and i tore out all the old carpet and got it back to just the bare metal when i see some holes in my floor pans. :bang: after multiple cuss words i started looking for a place where i can get some metal to get this fixed but i cant find one if anyone can give me some advice it would be appreciated.

It happens to the best of us.

How bad are the holes? If they are small, and there aren't too many, I'd consider patching them with fiberglass or something if this is your low $ driver.

Of course, the correct way to do it is cut out the rot, and weld in new metal, but it doesn't sound like thats a realistic option for you. If you are restoring the car, rather than driving it daily to school and what not, pan replacement is really the only way to go.

Hey - I am no expert either so take this with a grain of salt. I am sure it would help if you could post pictures too.

How big are the holes, I mean sometimes you can have very small holes where rust has started but it isn't really cancerous yet and no serious structural problem. If that, use a rust converter paint, i like eastwood but others swear by POR15 and fill in with seam sealer. If you have moderate or serious rust out then you have to cut out and replace the whole pan(s). There are a ton of articles and sites out there with good advice but you will need a MIG welders, WITH gas, to do a good job. Mustang Monthly had an article a few months ago on it. Not much help I am sure - post pictures if you can, you will get better advice from some of the real experts in this forum
