cannot identify second letter in my car's VIN

hi
i live in ISRAEL.
i have a 70 conv` 6 cyl mustang.
i want to swap to V8, but i need confirmation from FORD that the same car was equiped with V8 engines.
So i`m trying to read my VIN, but it is very hard.
looks like i`m only missing the second letter.
0H03L146307.
is there any way to locate vin beside on the LH shock tower?
i know that second letter is where they built the cars. can i locate the letter only by knowing all other details (70 conv`, 6 cyl, 250 cid, grande interior, front disc, booster, p/s, a/c)?
btw, first owner of the car was HERTZ.

Location
Stamped on plate riveted to instrument panel on driver's side, visible through the windshield. A Vehicle Certification Label replaced the previous Warranty Plate. It was mounted on the rear face of the driver's door.

Regardless of the VIN, you should be able to swap to a V8.
