Hey guys we are going to the track tonight and my friend has an 02 GT and he can't seem to get it to burn rubber it is a 5 speed. It feels like his ABS is messing it up or something. Is there some sort of fuse that we can pull to disable all this? Or does my friend just not know how to light them up?

He probably forgot to turn the traction control off.

That might be it, but I think he did turn it off. I tried to explain to him how to do a burnout with a manual, do you think he was getting on the brakes too hard? He takes the rpms up there and then they just drop and she dies. I don't think he is putting his foot in it enough what do you guys think?

HAHAHAHAHA I figured that was the problem, I will try to see if I can hop in there and show him how to do it.

with a manual, especcially if in a water box, there is no excuse. dont use the brake first. spike the rpms, dump the clutch, keep the gas 3/4 down and lightly apply pressure to the brake (the brake is an option, i usually dont use it)

it just takes a little bit of practice, sometimes your good at it other times your not. I know I am still working on mastering it in the 03, had it down good in my 99 cobra and 00 gt but for somereason I keep stalling out or frying the clutch in the 03.

Tell him to take it to a back road and practice. Took me all of 2.5 minutes to get it right.

It's not rocket science...Once you learn on one surface you can do it on all.

Thats why I was trying to teach him how to do it. I wanted him to do it on regular pavement before he gets in the box and makes a fool of himself. He is a good driver he can really bang through those gears for having a stock shifter. I just have never really worked much with newer cars so I didn't know if there was any kind of computer related issue that could cause it so I wanted to make sure, if anything I'll race it for him.
