I have searched hi and low in the Stangnet forums and can not find what I am looking for. What I am looking for is a decent set of instructions for building a homemade CAI. A friend of mine wants to make one and I said I would help him out.. but having never done it myself I don't want to stear him wrong..

So if anyone has any links to some good instructions that would be great.

Thanks

This is how I built mine, you can vary it how you wish. It's really not that hard, just play around with it.

Supplies:

4" PVC pipe
3" to 4" Fernco rubber boots from Home Depot
MAF adapter plate that will bolt to the MAF and allow a filter to bolt or clamp to it (www.uprproducts.com has one, search under air/fuel)
K&N Filter (either clamp on style or bolt on depending what kind of MAF adpater plate you get. Again upr has a filter that will work with their MAF adapter plate)

Cut the PVC pipe to about 10 inches and assemble everything. Trim the PVC pipe until it fits nicely. You will probably have to trim the fender well in order to get everything to fit in there. I used a tip snips and then lightly sanded the edges to get it smooth. Once everything fits nicely you need to drill a hole for the IAT sensor. Make sure you have the "U" of the IAT sensor facing toward the incoming air. Once you drill a snug hole, put some RTV on the threads of the sensor and screw it into the hole. Then you need to do the same this with the oil breather line. There is a little plug that plugs into the stock air box that the oil breather line connects to, drill out a hole in your PVC to snuggly fit that in there. Also, coat that in RTV when you plug it into your PVC. Connect the oil breather line to your connection and to the oil fill tube. Connect the IAT. Connect the MAF. Oil the K&N filter. Assemble everything, make changes as necessary. Dissasemble everything and paint the PVC. Reassemble and your done.

Sorry if anything was confusing. Just let me know if you have any questions.
