Can't get car to start with Clutch Safety Switch?

I am done with my 5sp conversion.

I can't get the car to start with the clutch safety switch.
I got the whole T-5 harness, so the NSS on the tranny is hooked up.

The car will start fine, with the plug attached. As soon as I take out the plug and connect the two harnesses into the clutch safety switch the car won't start.

I have bought a new clutch safety switch and have the same problem.

Am I missing something here? I want to get it hooked up right, so the car will not start in gear.

Thanks.

I would put a test light on the input and output of the switch (on a stock 5 spd, the CSS has one wire in one terminal and two wires in the second terminal IIRC) and crank it while pushing the button with your hand. Make sure you have input and switch the test light to the output.
The switch might not be adjusted right (you can reef on it to slide it up or down). With a test light on the output, and pushing on the CSS button itself, if you see that you have output, the switch has closed and the issue is downstream (at the solenoid, etc).

Good luck.
