i went to drop my tank to do the fuel pump and i couldnt get 1 of 2 fuel lines disconected. It was the metal internal clip kind, not the hairpin kind. I have 2 differnt tools that are supposed to realease it but it wont budge.. I wanted to get the plastic colerd quick release disconectors but the autoparts store had none. Any suggestions

Here is what is needed

I ran into this a few weeks ago while changing the fuel pump. Could not get the plastic tools to release the fuel lines. I ran down to the local NAPA store and got these two tools (at $13 each!) and it took about 5 seconds to release each line.

Slick...never seen that kind before...

Davins....use a couple small screwdrivers or a pic if you have some...anything small the you can reach in there with and "pull" on those tangs...they press down holding the line in place...lift em a tad and it'll slide apart...
That small lines a mofo... :(

My lines were ceased bad 2 weeks ago when I installed the big fuel pump. I only had the plastic clips and I was alone. Couldnt do it. Called a friend and he came over. He (under the car) had the long nose holding the clip pushing it in, while I (near the rear wheel) was pulling directly on the line to make it disengaged. Once we tried this, both lines were done in a minute.
