Hello there, I am new to this forum but was looking for some insight on this issue.
I have a '65 C code and it ran awesome, then one day it started sputtering and coughing. Almost violating shaking. I thought it was fuel related. So I attacked the fuel side first.
Here is what I did so far;
Rebuilt carb- didn't work
Replaced carb-didn't work
Replaced coil- didn't work
Replaced the condenser in the distributor- didn't work
Did a compression test- all good, got 130 to 150 PSI on all cylinders
Replaced plugs and plug wires
Verified I have spark
Disconnected the fuel pump from the carb thinking it was giving it too much pressure
I think it is getting too much fuel somehow.
Here are some pictures after I took when the carb was off today
