Can't see in the dark

Good Evening All:

I have given up on my headlights. They do not provide enough light in the darkness and have that yellow build up on the plastic inside the light itself. Can anyone recommend good headlights for a good price. Any brands better than the other? I have seen that there are "projector" headlights out. Has anyone used them? Have also seen the smoked headlights with clear corners, do these look good? Please post pics if you got them. Also would like to know if there is any special tricks I need to know before I start trying to pull out the whole headlight assembly? Thanks for the responses.

If you are going for a whole headlight assembly its going to be a little expensive. Not as expensive as say buying real HIDs but still probably 2-300 dollars expensive. I wasn't real happy with the light I was getting from my stock headlights either so I went to Best Buy and bought some replacement "blue" bulbs. They aren't HIDs but they are definitely a hell of a lot brighter than the stock bulbs and they were only like 30 bucks. I think the 94-98 headlight assembly is a little harder to take out but the 99+ you only have to take out 2 pins and the whole thing comes out. I replaced my bulbs in like 15 minutes without knowing what I was doing at first.

Thank you for your reply. I did buy new bright bulbs, but with the clouding on the inside of the headlight assembly they STILL offer very little help in the dark. Literally I have to be in pitch blackness to see with these things and in these suroundings with these lights I still can only see about 6 feet in front of the car!!!! Thank you for your response.

Wow, that's pretty shoddy. The only thing to do would be to figure out how to take apart the assembly to get to the lense so that you can clean it. Otherwise, I guess you COULD just buy a new assembly. That seems to be an expensive solution to what shouldn't be that hard of a problem to solve. Why is the inside of your assembly so crappy... I assume water and stuff is getting in and condensing or something?

go there. these are the lights i have on my car now. i have the entire kit and i love them. it improves the look of the car and helps so much with the visibility issue. my girl friend has a 98 stang and she is having exactly the same problem you are so im trying to get her to buy some too. have i mentioned how much it helps with visibility?
