I was checking my timing. But how the hell do you see the marks? I ran some chalk on the HB. I can "see" them but I cant get at the proper angle to see the one in the little window when the light flashes. It looks like you have to take the fircking alternator off to see it.

haha I know what you mean. Seriously, it took me like 15 minutes to finally get the right angle the first time. The only spot I was able to put the light was right next to the upper rad hose, and if you look very very carefully you should be able to see the timing pointer from there. The only way is to keep trying, you'll get it eventually.

Agreed. I use a silver Sharpie to fill in the lines from 8-16*, and fill in the number 10 too (makes the point of reference easier to pick up).

I think I almost hit the nose of my timing light into the alternator pulley when I have it where I can see. It's kind of a PITA.

Good luck.

I cut the light up a little on the blet. But i got it a few hours ago. Its set at 14* with no pinging.

I was at my friends house and his dad wants to try out my wheels on his '06 GT. Will they fit? Its just the backspacing that different right?

We looked down from about where the upper radiator hose is, didnt really have any problems. The only problem we had was we marked the wrong spot.....

oh and we used a white crayon....

Are you trying to look through the little circle? I think the actual pointer is the straight line above the circle. Someone please correct me is I am wrong.
