Canton 7 Qt. oil pan and dipstick question?

For those who have this or know about it. The dipstick housing is longer than the dipstick tube. I'm guessing I have to cut the housing but how much. Why would it come like this?

I just left mine alone. It shouldent affect the checking of the level.

Yeah I didn't have to modify mine at all.

Vib, how did that pan fit in the k-member? My friends and I had to chop a stock Fox k-member to get it to fit.

What part number was your pan?

I'm not sure about the pan part number. The K-member is fine all around it. My concern is the front portion. Its just about laying on the rack/pinion.

with my engine it barley touched the rac tubes and i have about 1/2 clearance

Didn't need to modify mine either.
