Canton oil pan

You lose the use of that sensor unless you want to try to modify the pan... Just clip the wires and tuck them up in the harness.

Use a Fel-Pro OS34508 gasket, with a silicone bead up fron and rear on the pan, do not use the stock pan rails either, BLUE loctite the bolts. I have been building with the Canton stuff for years...

y cant u use the stock pan rails? fitment issuse? im working on my 347 and was just curious...thanks

I found the Cantons leaked when using the rail supports, the Cantons did not have smooth rails like the stocker, they had embossments every inch or so.

Now with that being said I just got in a shipment of 15-620S and they now have smooth rails, so the supports should work. I also use ARP bolts which are not long enough for use with the supports..

cool...thanks for the heads up. u mentioned cutting the sensor and tucking it with the harness. i called my local speed shop where i got my motor and they said to ground that wire out. does it make any difference?

MY PAN HAS NO SMOTH RAILS, I SHOULDN'T PUT THE RAILS?

i just disconnected the sensor and taped off the pin with electrical tape. the light doesn't come on.

by the time that light did come on, you're pretty much screwed anyways because it's so low in the pan.

I always use a Fel-Pro OS34508R 1 pc gasket, it is the thick one. With the SMOOTH rails on the pan you can RUN the stock support straps. If you plan to use ARP bolts in the pan you will not be able to run the straps since the bolts are too short.
