Car acting funny

ever since i put a new fender mount CAI on my car its been idling like crap for the first 5 mins or so when warming up....it actually cuts off about 3 times b4 it will stay running.....also i the other day when i was gettin on it i looked back and it was throwing alot of white smoke out the back.....(this may also be b/c of the 170,000 miles on the car)....do i need to reset the computer or something so it will acknowleged the new CAI or what?

Not normally. What mass air sensor are you running?

White smoke is coming out your exhaust? Typically white smoke exiting the exhaust system can be correlated to a head gasket.

it has the stock mass air sensor put it has a 65mm tb
