I'm shopping for a head unit for my GT and have my sights set on a Pioneer DEH-P7200HD. I purchased the installation kit and everything but when I go to the best buy website to see if they had one for cheaper there was a little application guide to see if it'll fit and the website says it won't fit my car. I'm assuming this head unit is just as big as any other ordinary non-dvd model out there. What do you guys think?

I'm by no means an expert on the audio stuff. I had the stock stereo until 5 months ago. I ordered my stuff from Crutchfield. Looked around and they weren't the cheapest...however. These guys should offer classes nationwide on how to conduct customer service...no complaints from this guy. Looked at a head unit online, then called them. Rep says, if you go up to the next model...free shipping, think it was ~20 bucks more, which would have been (roughly) the same as shipping. It came with a detailed install guide, and they threw in the adapter for the head unit to work with the Mach 460 amps/speakers etc.

Again, not the cheapest out there, but comparable. But the customer service was AMAZING. Went back a week later and got a new stereo for my Xterra...same rep, more throw ins...again no complaints form this guy!

good luck!

I was wondering because according to the best buy website the head unit apparently can't fit physically inside my console. Best Buy offers the same unit but cheaper because it's a dealer and going through a dealer is always cheaper than going direct to the manufacturer. So question is can this thing fit inside the console or will there be clearance issues to be expected?

I've dealt with Crutchfield before too. They aren't the cheapest, but their customer service is great. That adapter to make it work with the Mach 460 is like $50 too. The Crutchfield guys are good, because they are on comission.

Another +1 on Crutchfield. When I had my Ranger, I went audio-crazy with it, and that company is EXCELLENT in terms of service and selection.
