Well my car started burning oil about a week or so ago. At least thats when my friends started noticing and told me. I dont think its the rings, as while I do have 106k miles, I do know these engines can last a long time. And Im always religious about changing my oil every 2,500-3,000 miles. Also I took of the oil cap while the engine was running and didnt feel any blow-by. I also checked my oil and its right on the money after 2k miles since my last change.

When talking to my friends they say it only happens at WOT and/or over 4k rpm. Anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? Im thinking maybe the PCV valve? Im pretty stumped and its pretty agarvating. Thanks.

Cracked ring, if you only see the smoke at WOT. Oil from the PCV will cause smoke when you let off the gas, especially at high RPM (lots of vacuum).

Sounds like your getting a little bit of blow by. I don't think i'd worry about it, its not like its smoking like a chimney like some cars I see one the road burning oil at idle  Only way to fix it is hone the cyl and get new rings. If your gonna go and fix it, save your money and build a real motor, not just a basic rebuild.

At WOT and over 4K, there should be stuff coming out the pipes. LOL. All that torque creates sweat. :D

We have low tension rings, so it is not unusual. If your oil level does not diminish, I would not sweat it myself. Since it does not smoke at all times, I doubt you have 'hurt' parts.

Good luck.

Thanks for the posts guys. Hopefully it isnt anything big. And if HISSIN is right, Ill just live with it. This car will only have 1 more year of daily driver duty, so unless the problem gets a lot worse, Ill just deal with it. Also, I cant even see it from the drivers seat, so that goes to show how much comes out. Only people behind me can see it.
