Car Club starts next Saturday (May 5) at Bremerton and the following Friday (May 11) for the Pacific Raceway series of races. These are two separate competitions this year with points awarded for each competition. Anyone can take part in either or both competitions. Bremerton has more race days and all competitions are on Satrudays. At Pacific Raceway (PR), scheduled CCC competitions vary between Friday nights, Wednesday nights and occassionally other days.

The Ford Drag Team won last year and it would be nice to keep the momentum. The format is bracket racing for a team. You get two or three practice runs then competition begins. We won last year due to the influx of new Mustangs that raced, so even if you are a beginner, it's a great place to meet other people with a similar interest and learn a little about racing. To sign-up for the series at either track entails a one-time $5. entry fee. Individual trophies are awarded for first and second place for each race.

Feel free to ask any questions on this site. I drive an all black on black '82 GT and will be happy to direct you once you are at the track. At PR, Kent McGruder puts-up a Ford Drag Team four-pole tent usually located on the immediate right after you pass the gas pumps on the way into the track. I plan to be at Bremerton but might do some PR races too.

Who's interested?

I will shoot for the May 11 CCC, I want to give this a shot, since Im running the C4. Should be pretty consistant. I would go for the 5 May, but a little while ago while we were retuning the car, I ended up pushing the piston rings thru the top of the forged pistons. Currently I am having thicker forged Piston's installed.

So once again I will be shooting for the 11th.

The lands broke? I've done that.

See you there.

Gates will open at 8AM at Bremerton. They usually start making passes at 9ish or slighlty later. The Ford Team will try to park together somewhere. I usually try to grab the spots in the grass where the return road hits the pit road. But I cannot always hold the needed space. You will see many parking places numbered, but those numbers are not applicable until Sunday, even if the locals tell you otherwise. In spite of knowing this, I will move if asked, and if relocating is not too much hassle, just because I don't want confrontations while racing.

After you pay your entry fee, turn left and drive to the Tech inspection area which will be immediately in front of you. Fill out your card and get teched. You will need to join the CCA ($5) and get your number with a "W" prefix indicating Ford Drag Team, you may be required to pay for a Bremerton track number ($5.) but maybe not... I always want a Bremerton number, but if you plan to do CC and nothing else, the Bremerton number may be unnecessary. Then park and wait for the speaker to call up CCA racers. We'll probably get 2 to 4 passes before competition starts depending on attendance, weather, and damage to the track.

Looking forward to seeing you and my old car. Did I leave any questions unanswered?

I am checking on the need to get a Bremerton track number. Also, you'll just need to look around a bit to find the CCA registration area. It is usually a blue awning. All of us must register as it is the first race.

Lightning in Car Club Challenge?

A friend of mine wants to know if he can run his Lightning in the Ford camp Saturday for the car club challenge.

I didn't know if it was just Mustangs or not, as I remember Mike running his old Cyclone in it.

Let me know as my friend would like to if possible.

Thanks,
Brandon

I am sure all Ford car or truck are welcome.

Your friend is more than welcome, anybody with a Ford vehicle can race with us. I even had a friend of my son run his camaro for our team a couple times.
