I will be storing my mustang in a garage this winter. Its not heated, and up here in N.E it does get pretty cold. I really don't have much money to spend, but are the wal-mart car covers halfway decent. I probably wanna spend no more than 50 dollars on one. The main purpose of me getting one is for scratch protection. Any suggestions?

I have stored my cars in the garage for years and used a wal-mart car cover. I haven't had any problems with them. Most of your worries will be moisture, mostly if there are cracks in the floor of the garage, cause things to rust, also helps if you get a car cover that allows air to escape so it doesnt hold in the moisture.

I'm pretty sure there are no cracks in it...are the walmart covers breathable?

The one I got at Wal-Mart is breathable, just read the box, it will say if it is or not. If you are storing your car outside, make sure you have a nice big tarp to park on, otherwise rust galore come springtime. I will be storing my stang in a storage unit this year, as my boyfriends 91 GT is in our garage :damnit: , and my car is far too nice to park outside no matter how careful I am.

Thanks for the help! I'm gonna run to walmart tomorrow. Just out of curiosity, how much are they?

I bought mine probably 5 years ago, I would guess around 40 though.

It's always hard to spend $$ on something like that though, when you have a never ending list of parts you want.
