just got a new 2000 mustang GT then just my luck...a hit and run...just wondering how much it would cost to repair it...the damages are front passenger headlight, front bumper, passenger side skirt, passenger front fender, passenger rear quarter panel and possibly a rear bumper...i dont know how the passenger door didnt get damaged?! but i dont have full coverage so i have to pay for it myself...talk about a bummer, and i didnt even get to install an exhaust yet... :(

www.stangparts.com www.bumpers.com and check out the classifieds on this and other mustang forums. if you can find used parts and do the installs on your own, it wont be THAT expensive. i rear-ended a jeep and was quoted near $2k to repair. that is only to replace the hood and front bumper cover with OEM parts. $200 less if i wanted to use cheaper aftermarket parts. However, ive found people in my area selling used hoods and bumpers in the same paint color, and doing the work myself might get it all fixed for under $400

dang...2k just to repair the hood & front bumper?! geez if i get estimates like that itll be like 5k... how hard is it to install parts like the front bumper? quarter panels? and those gt ground effect side skirts? b/c ive looked online for prices and they dont seem too outragous. and also, it happened over the weekend and im not too sure if hit and runs add points to your insurance?

well on my estimate, the bumper was 314 and the hood was 500, but the painting and labor costs are huge. thats how most body work is. they couldnt repair the damage, that was the main part. it all had to be repaired. i haven't taken the bumper off before, but i read what is in the haynes manual and it seems pretty easy. same with the hood. id think the fenders would be harder, but don't know.

keep in mind some of the prices you've found online might be for primered parts. painting isn't cheap
