Car dies when...

For some reason when I put the car in gear, forward or reverse, the rpms drop which I expect but then it dies. Is this a fuel problem? It did this about two years ago and changing the fuel filter fixed it. I would try this again but I've only driven the car 6,000 miles in the past two years. Will an adjustable fuel pressure regulator help? Is 42 PSI about right?

i had the exact same problem just last week and i fixed it already, well, it hasn't come up anymore. for the most part, change out your fuel filter just in case. clean your maf, tb, iac and replace act. i did all of the above and what fixed it was the act. the previous owner had cut up the wires to the act and wasn't making good contact, i bought some butt splices and patched everything up, haven't had the problem since. if you're not familiar with doing the above, check out the website and take it from there.

PS, i just installed my AFPR last week as well as a gauge and set it at 39 and worked fine

i think 42 might be a tad bit high. i have mine at about 38 w/ vac off. my buddy put too much fuel into his car and he would drown the plugs every once in awhile....more isnt always better
