jaybertx Congrats on the car, that color is SWEEET. Tinting the windows should keep your shift knob cool enough. No need for a sock. Now if you lived in a cold weather state you'd need a sock to keep your fingers from getting frost bite! Kind of a non-issue in Florida.

I've had no shift knob issues as of yet but then I park in a garage at work and the garage at home. I have a couple of micro fiber towels in the car in cast it gets too hot! I got the tint installed today and will have a detail session in the morning but then will take some newer pictures with the tint. It just looks WICKED with the tint. Love it!!

Thank you everyone for the compliments. I've now had it 8 days and am at close to 400 miles. Every day I walk out to my garage and just shake my head that I finally have the car and the grin doesn't leave my face for the entire drive to work. I have a 10 mile round-trip commute so the rest of the miles are just pleasure miles! :-D

Nice!!! You have a pic of the beast with the tint? What % did ya use for the tint?

On a side note, my monster arrived yesterday!! I'll be picking her up Monday! I'm like a 5yr old a couple days before Christmas. *cough*cough* Gonna take a sick day at work Monday I think

I do plan on adding exhaust eventually but at this point I think I'm going with the GT500 exhaust.

I don't have a tint pic yet. I got the tint done yesterday but it's rainy today so I won't be able to get a pic. Maybe tomorrow. I went legal with it here in FL so it's 28% in the front and 15 on the triangles and rear. I think it looks great. Pics ASAP!

Funny you should mention that... my boss asked me when my car was coming in a few weeks ago. I told him that he'd know when I got it because it would be the day before I called in sick. Congrats on the car! PICS when you get it!

Exactly...I told bossman Friday I will most likely not be in Monday but we shall see. If I do come in, it will be to show off the new beast!

If you definitely want Lava I would do everything possible to get one of those two cars. I don't know about a quality hold (my car was built 6/9 and delivered in Florida on 6/16) but Lava Red is balanced out and won't be back until 2013 at earliest.

What happened to Lava Red?

The factory that made some of the pigment for Lava Red, Kona Blue and Red Candy was damaged in the earthquake/tsunami in March. Because of that Lava Red is unavailable for order for the rest of the model year. Kona Blue they expect to be exhausted by August. For job 2, they are bringing back Sterling Grey to replace Lava Red and Sonic Blue to replace Kona. They have a different formula for Red Candy to replace Red Candy. The tsunami is also responsible for the lack of Mustang (and I suspect other) navigation units. You can not longer order a 2012 Mustang with Nav.

Hey jaybertx

Finally got my beast. Ford took care of the issue with the missing 3.73 option on the order. Love the hell outta the girl. Here's a quick pic I took looking down from my apt deck.

That is a beautiful car.!! Please tell us you have garages in your apartment complex. It's a shame to let something that nice sit in a parking lot.

Thanks for these pics guys, I have been wanting to see real life pictures of Lava Red- that is a cool color!

Sounds like you guys may end up with some rare steeds if Lava Red is canceled for the rest of the year though.

That's the best picture of the LR I have ever seen! Even your spoiler shows the highlights!

That color seems to be the "red" version of Kona Blue. Looks black most of the time.

Fantastic shot. It hadn't occurred to me to try and get somewhat of an aerial shot. Awesomeness, I will have to take a ladder outside and try to duplicate that. :-D

Congrats on the car!!

Ty Ty!! She's a beast too!! She just wants to go!!!

Just lucky that pic came out that well. I figured a pic from the second floor would look pretty spif and it turned out better than I expected.

Yeah, first thing I thought was how bad I would hate it if I had to park my stang next to somebody else. At work, I can park on the end of a row and let it hang out in the aisle some. In other parking lots I park way the hell out there by myself. I can't even imagine parking it in an apartment complex.

Congrats on the car. Lava Red is an awesome color. If it had been available on the 2011s, I probably would have gotten it when I ordered (mine is Kona Blue).

It seems like the earthquake wiped out the three best colors, which is really a shame. Sterling Grey isn't exactly a replacement for Lava Red. If I remember right, Sonic Blue isn't nearly as good as Kona Blue either (it tends to look like a flat purple in dim light). Have to wait and see what the reformulated Red Candy actually looks like.

Hi puma1552,
As jaybertx posted, due to a supplier disruption of a metallic paint pigment used by the automotive industry caused by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, some paint colors were restricted and alternative colors were chosen.

Lmelght,

NICE!! So glad everything worked out!
