Well I finally heard the 408 roar today. Damn she is rank. Can't wait to get her to street duty to break here in. Major throttle response and LOUD. All I have is longtubes on it and no exhaust. We'll see how long I can get away with that on the street . She's running a little rough right now. We think I have a bad plug wire. The #3 Cylinder just is not getting hot enough. #4 shows 530 degrees but #3 only shows 240. That's temp gunned right at the header. Compression is good and injector is good. Either bad distributor or bad plug wire. Hopefully bad plug wire. Distributor is a brand new MSD.

Think it may be the distributor. Took the wire off #3 and stuck it on a bolt and grounded it to the frame and it would only give a spark at real low idle. When we hit the gas and drove the rpm's up the spark stopped. Sounds like the distributor is toast. It's a brand new MSD piece too. Pisses me off.

Got her running!!!!!! The Distributor was garbage even though it was brand new. Changed some of the guts out for my old 5.0 one and she goes like hell. She is damn fast!!!!!! I'll try to get video of it at the track this weekend. Still have the hood issue to deal with though !

I haven't bought anything MSD or Champion in quite some time, never had any luck with their crap. I have heard of quite a few issues with their crap as well, so I am not surprised that it was their product that caused your problem. Glad you got it sorted out.

MSD seems to be slipping pretty bad lately so it seems. I've talked to a few guys at our track in the last few day sand have heard similar issues. Siounds like the digital ignition boxes are a really problem too. No more MSD for me.
