I just recently installed a Trick flow intake and a B303 cam in my stock GT mustang, the car will not run good right now especially when you first crank it up in the morning. It doesn't want to take the gas and backfires. After installing the cam we were setting the time...if you set the time where it runs real good and has power it overheats if you adjust the time to where it won't overheat it runs like crap. If anyone has any ideas what might be wrong PLEASE help. Car has a new distirbutor, rotor, cap, spark plugs, wires, water pump, thermastat.

THANKS!!!

Nothing should cause your issues... I would set the base timing at 6-8- or 10 degrees ( none of which should cause issues) and see where the engine likes it!! IF you are at 8* and the car runs hot and overheats... I would look into the cooling !! If the car sux untill the base is at 20*.. then it over heats... maybe the ign was installed incorrect!! remember , just back up, have a beer, and think... then go over each item again with a clear mind.
I suggest the B303 installed at 4* advanced!! with the intake and NO heating issues.. that car should FLY and be fun!!

Sorry no help??
