It happened to me two times already, once about 3-4 weeks ago and yesterday again.
When i accelerate the car speeds up in a very jerky motion, the exhaust emits this muffled sound just like when the traction controll kicks in. First time it lasted about two mins and this time about the same. Its really starting to worry me. Any of you guys experience this? what could it be?

I had the same problem in my 96 GT. Changed the fuel filter yesterday, and the problem went away.

Well I changed my fuel filter yesterday, and it didnt help. Spark plugs are next. GOD i hope that helps... If not, then fuel injectors, and fuel pump i guess...

I was thinking maybe some STP into the tank to clean the injectors?

The jerking happens every single day now, and VERY often

Spray some electrical contact cleaner on your MAF sensor wires, maybe they've gotten gunked up. A bad MAF can cause a bunch of wierd problems, especially bucking and hesitation / uneven pull, etc.

Well, I think I pinpointed my problem. Two nights ago I poured some STP Fuel Injector Cleaner into my has tank... drove around all day yesterday, and the car hesitated only once. Today in the morning i got a rough idle after I left my class, but it went away after about a minute of driving. Looks like my injectors need to be replaced.... I'm changing the sparkplugs this weekend too. Should be running good next week...
