My car was running just fine and then I took out my a/c and now only when I'm driving the car at a constant speed and rpm it acts like it is missing. Then when I push in the clutch the idel drops really low and almost dies and sometimes does. At first I thought maybe it was a miss and replaced the plugs but it is still doing it. I thought it might be the bypass valve but would that make the car want to die or maybe it is the IAC? Maybe I have a fuel problem? What do you all think? Thanks for the help!

Might be the cycle switch too. Is it all the time or just when your defrost in on? Otherwise sounds like a dirty or bad IAC. Try taking the IAC off and cleaning it with some carb clearer. Don't be alarmed if there is some blue smoke on initial start up after you clean it. Good luck.

also get a new PCV and grommet (dirt cheap parts). Clean your MAF sensor with electrical parts cleaner, as well as the IAC connector. If all that doesn't work, even with a new IAC, check the TPS voltage (svttech stickied a post that has the right perameters of the TPS). If the TPS is off range its like $25 to replace.

ok I cleaned the iac and it still does it. You know its like its getting worse and its kinda violent at times. I'm gonna clean the MAF and then check the tps voltage.

shouldnt have anything to do with the a/c delete. did you use the kit? if so i dont see how that could effect anything. most likely one of the above problems.

yea I used the kit but it was just the pulley and bracket. I just unplugged the wire going to the a/c and the wire going to the canister and the one going to the a/c line. I plugged back in the one going to the pan( I think its the crankshaft position sensor, right?) I just don't get why it was running fine before the install and then after its doing this surging at constant throttle. I checked everythin to see if I missed something but I can't find anything wrong and no codes. I think maybe I will just replace the TPS and the IAC.

Hooked the car up to a scanner last night and the only thing it said was on the run test that the tps had low voltage so I'm gonna just replace it. Hope thats all it is.

Ok this is getting on my nerves. I replaced the tps, pcv and the iac and cleaned the maf. But it is still doing it. What now? The car is fine under boost. Runs like a champ. Just normal driving around it surges and when I let off the gas the idel goes way down and then settles out. Replaced all the plugs too. I'm gonna try to clean the front oxygen sensors and replace the fuel filter. Any other ideas?

Got it figured out. After talking to Tim at MPH I had taken my fog lights out trying to save weight and it was pushing to much air into the MAF. Fog lights back it and no more miss. I sure am glad that's all it was!
