was driving down a steep hill when it first stalled on me. it still did it on flat road too. i thought it was maybe a lack of fuel because it was a hill and the tank was near empty. but under throttle it drove fine. i was guessing it was a dirty IAC again, but it seemed different this time. this time it was surging alot when not on the throttle, but under throttle it drove fine. it kept surging up and down between 300 and 2000 rpm and occasionally started to stall or stalled alltogether. could it be a dirty MAF? im gonna try and get out and clean the IAC, which i think it is because it drove fine after i turned it off and restarted it again.

Could be a clogged fuel filter......the lack of gas might be it too. just got some air in the line. plus when you run down past 1/4 tank you tend to pick up more crap which leads me back to the clogged filter. Also could be some water in the system too. sorry for the spurratic reply, brainstorming as I go.

is it backfiring, making any loud noises from the engine bay? you sure you are getting any spark?

i didnt think it was backfiring. all it was, it was trying to stall, but it fluttered and tried to regain itself. my guess is it was the iac cuz it's not doing it so far this morning. im sure i was getting spark because if i wasnt getting spark i'd feel a sputter and loss of power, which i didnt have. under throttle, the car drove normally. again, seems like the iac, but it was just odd how it was acting, didnt think it would flutter like that.

the fuel filter should be fine, i replaced that not too long ago when i was trying to diagnose another problem. that seems like that could've been. i was at like an 1/8th tank goin downhill off a steep bridge, and my fuel gauge is a tad high after installing the white-faces. it might've been that, though it was still doing it for a short while after the bridge, about 3-4 miles.

but i already changed it not too long ago. i think i was just getting air in the fuel line. im gonna put some additives in there to clean it out some. but it runs fine, i've driven it all this morning.
