Hey everyone.

I have noticed something over the past couple of days and am not sure if it is related and something I should be worried about.

I have noticed the car Lurches or surges when coasing at about 1800rpm going down hill. When I apply some gas it goes away, downshift it goes away, stuff in the clutch it goes away, and brake it goes away.

I just had 4.10s installed and I noticed it.

Not sure if it is related. The gears don't whine and there is no driveline vibration that I can feel.

Thanks!

You can expect some learching with the 4.10's. This is because X mph equals more change in Y (engine speed). You'll get used to it

There is a parameter in the EEC called fuel_cut_on_decel It is designed to cut fuel to the injectors a few seconds after you let off the gas. The 4:10's just make it more noticable. I turned mine off and it seems much smoother now.

I figured it was a combination of RPM decel and the gear ratio.

The car usually is decel popping when it does it. It doesn't do it all the time.

Thought I would ask. Just wasn't ready for the lurching at first.

Thanks!

Yeah I noticed it after my 4.10 install over a yr ago, mine is so bad sometimes it makes the car undrivable in 4th gear around town..
I will be ripping out my 4.10's in a few months and going for 3.73's when I get my KB SC, hopefully it will not be as noticable.
