Along with a FM Modulator, you can play mp3's through the existing stereo, and take it with you when not in your car. Most indash players still use cd's. While they hold a lot more songs on one disc, you will still end up changing discs from time to time, and have to know what is on each disc. With an Ipod, you have your entire music collection with you all the time, and can move it from car to car. I highly recomend this route.
