car problems

When i start my car it will turn on,but when i start driving the rpms will drop to zero and my car will die,but sometimes the rpms will hit zero and then come back up.After it dies it will take 3-7 hard starts to get it back on.What could be causing this problem?

I dont know, i had the same problem with my 96 SHO and no one know what was wrong, took it to 15 shops and nothing, i think it might be a senser but who knows, have u been hotrodding the crap out of it? nuteral droppin? ect? If u find out id sure like to know.

u might want to check your coil wires.esp.your tach wire i think its the green one.might have a bad connect.good luck

Does it do it only when hot or cold as well? A lot of guys say problems like that put in a new TFI module and that fixed it.

Have you pulled codes? Look for a TFI, PIP or IDM code.

I haved pulled codes and i do get PIP.I think its code 211,i dont have the code reader with me rite now,but i know for sure its pip.
What does that mean?

The PIP is the Profile Ignition Pick up, or stator. It is inside the dizzy and provides the base spark and fuel injector timing.

It can be hard to R/R so some guys prefer to get a new or reman'd dizzy. If you have a manual, you can troubleshoot it further before replacing parts.
