I have an 89 5.0 AOD which lately after about 10 minutes of driving when you come to a stop sign shuts off. The alternator and battery are checking good. I just had the transmission replace in the spring. Anyone have any ideas what it might be?

TFI Module 100% cooked , get a new one from Rockauto.

Motorcraft TFI
https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=5434788&cc=1134010&pt=7172&jsn=17

Or this one says heavy duty TFI version for AOD after you add this to the cart you will see the info.

and you can relocate your new TFI module with this, best one out there.

get some extra Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/16642480345...pid=5335821607&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1

and after its all installed your stang will fire right up and drive beautifully.

also if you ever need your ECU repaired this place is awesome and the best place to get it fixed at.

I can vouch for the McCully Racing relocation kit. Did this on my Coupe and it fired right up and zero issues since I did it. I even reused my old TFI module with the Artic Silver 5. So now I have a new Motorcraft TFI module in the box for a back up which is fine by me.
