Wow, it's been a while! :SNSign:

This has recently started happening to me.

I'll be driving along and hit a bump. All of a sudden the car sputters about 3-5 times; a feeling as if it's not getting ANY spark during each sputter. After that, it goes back to normal. It only does it during bumps.

My gut feeling is that maybe it's a loose wire on a coil pack but want to hear your opinions. Thanks!

hmm, maybe.

i should mention though that these "sputters" are very quick. it feels like that every little jolt from the bump causes the car to sputter. its almost instantaneous. it feels as if the engine has almost shut down during each one.

btw, thanks for moving this to tech!

I had the same problem last year when I would slow down and rpm's
would drop and I would go over a speed bump or pothole in the ground
my car would "sputter" just like you are talking about. One of my sparkplug
wires started to come loose from the spark plug some how and it would
"sputter" two or three times and go away.I took my car to a local Ford
Dealership to see if they could find the root of the problem. It turned out
to be bad coil packs, bad battery, and really old spark plug wires that
had a short in two of the plugs. They installed a new Motorcraft battery,
new Motorcraft spark plug wires, and I suppleyed them with two brand new
Accel coil packs to install. My car came out of the Dealership running like
new again I was happy!
Your problem is probably spark or fuel related.
When was the last time you changed your spark plugs and spark plug wires?
It could be a bad fuel pump as Mike is saying?
Your fuel injectors could possibly be clogged?
Long time no see Ryan. What's been going on?
I'm glad you came back and good luck I hope you find the problem.

too much has been going on, same ol' car though. after buying enough for the house i finally have some more money for mods...

its been a while, but what are some good places to pick up two new coil packs? i'm going to mess with the car later and see if i can find out what's the matter.

i know the battery is still good and the wires arent that old. the packs are still stock and i know i'm due to change my plugs.

other than that the car runs great, heh. thanks!
