Hey guys, as the title says someone has been vandelizing my car for almost 3 weeks now. At first I thought it was an accident that no one was owning up to...then things kept getting worse. Started out as a small dent in my driver side door, nothing too bad and no paint damage. I didnt pay it much mind but a week or so later my front fender was dented in (see pic), again with no paint damage. I thought maybe it happened at the store or something but I rarely drive the car and its something I doubt I would have missed had it happened at such a place, besides there was no paint damage so it had to have happened while the car cover was on...which its only on at my house in the same spot I park EVERY TIME. So Ive been driving the car more over the last two weeks and havent been putting the cover on, this morning I woke up to three large 'rock' dents in my driver door and the trim around my rear window had been ripped off...someone is targeting my car My jeep is parked direcltly behind the mustang and it has no damage. I checked the other cars in the neighborhood and no one else has damage. It makes it worse that its someone in my neighborhood because I cant feel like my car is ever safe. So far its only been cosmetic crap but each time they do something they get more bold The way I see it I only have two options since I cant prove whos doing it...get an alarm or move the car to a buddy's house. The alarm install (I have an old clifford) will be 175...anyway I called 50Resto about the trim and the say its discontinued. Does anyone have a shell I could steal the trim from (pay for it obviously)? Also do you know how to get the clip off the trim without damaging them. Anyway let me know, thanks guys.

No Im forced to park on the street (under the only street lamp on the road) We live in the lower part of a house, our landlords live upstairs and they use the garage...I dont have a lot of options. My main concern now is finding that trim piece now that its discontinued...it just bugs me that its someone I live near...dont feel like the car will ever be safe now...

With a repeat offender, I think I'd just park my ass in the garage with a shotgun and wait...

I'd just get the car alarm. I don't know about Bellingham, but to rent a public garage around Renton is rape. I'm glad I have a two stall garage with my apartment. $45 a month. Dirt cheap. Bummer about your 'Stang. That video cam idea is a great idea. Put it in your Jeep since you park it behind your 'Stang. It should give you a good picture of who's doing it.

Problem #1 with Cam: I have to wait till he does something AGAIN...every time he gets more destructive, next time it could be a window or worse
Problem #2: I dont have a cam

Im not buying a camera in HOPES of catching some 13 y/o kid who has no money to pay me anyway. Has anyone tried that Ding King thing? Any luck with it? A kit is only $15 on-line. Since I cant afford body work right now I think this is my best bet. Also, whos got ideas for finding that trim?

i dont know his circumstances without asking. dont you think after someone returns you money you should fully return their items within 3 weeks?

about your trim, i would try looking on www.corral.net in their classifieds. i see lots of part cars over there all the time. if not them, maybe a junkyard/ebay. worst case try a local autoglass shop. they may carry something that would work.

you have the clifford alarm, try installing it yourself. Its pretty straightforward.

You can probably find the instructions online

Grrr...I cant post in the classifieds or send PM's at corral...not enough posts yet. As far as putting in the alarm Im not too confident with my electrical skills. Its got ignition kill, door lock accuator, and the door LED's (Kit lights)...Id rather shell out the 175 bucks....

i think hungrymonkeys right. and on the dents you should be able to push them out with your hand if they are not real deep

"hungrymonkey" i was thinking the same thing. which in turn would probably be some 13yr old kid.

"skoobie" why dont you just put a car cover on it, help soften the damage and beside if someone is doing it. he/she would definetly want to see the damage they did, by covering and securing it well enough they won't be able to. i don't think they would take the cover off just to see the damage.

the good thing is, if its some young kid, he should be scared off enough with an alarm to leave it alone.

good luck finding whoever did it. we had some kid break the whole back window out of our car recently. so i know how it is
