Car was shot while I was in it! Pictures inside

Can't have him pay for the damage being that there isn't any actual proof that he did the shooting. They denied it when asked and that was the end of the report basically.

As for the welt comment :rlaugh: That would have angered me.

That's ****ing sketchy! Glad you are OK, that's the most important thing.

If you did have your window down and someone shot any round that contains gunpowder, you would have heard it. So it must have been a pellet or BB gun. I guess it could have been a rock too though ... Not that it changes the principle of someone intentionally trying to eff up your car!!

Just keep in mind that what goes around comes around. He'll get what he deserves one way or another.

Yeah, the cops can't do much in this type of situation ... What's really ****ty is that you know, right when you dial 911, they aint gonna be able to do anything.

I do feel it was done on purpose, though really unsure why I was picked

The road to the porch is only about 15-20 yards and when I heard the noise, very quickly after is when I started hearing the glass cracking around. By the time that I cut a u-turn to see what the hell had happened, the person had already went inside.

I have no plans on returning the favor or anything such as that. I have made a report on it and that pretty much ends the story. ****ty that I lost money for apparently no reason, though thats life :nice:

My Chiropractor sent me this in an email ... thought it was funny:

George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi was going up to bed when his wife
told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see
from the bedroom window.

George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there
were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and he
said"no". Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should
Simply lock his door and an officer would be along when available.

George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were People in
my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now cause I've Just shot
them all." Then he hung up.

Within five minutes three police cars, an Armed Response unit, and an
ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence and caught the burglars
red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot
them!"

George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

:rlaugh: That's about right.

I didn't call 911 since it really wasn't an emergency and I know my local law enforcement is short-handed to say the least. I had to wait on hold for 10-15 minutes before I got to talk to someone, and then was put on hold again :)

Just got some interesting information about this

The officer that made the report last night had a complaint filed against him today by the ass that did this to my car. Apparently when the officer went to question him, the guy told the officer to "get the fu** off of my property" (sorry about the lang guys).

The guy reported the cop for attempting to question him about my car. This means that the cop didn't even get to ask questions about it since the "owner" of the house told him to get off of the property. This is a strange twist to the story

Why the hell would the guy be upset that a cop showed up if he didn't do anything wrong?

Because he was probably scared that the officer would find out the truth ... So instead of accidently slipping up or giving the cop time to scope out the premises, he just got irate (speculating of course) so the cop would leave. Or the gun could have been on his person, thereby making him nervous.

Whatever the case, it sounds like that dude is a crazy mofo.

But now that I think about it, shouldn't the cop have said something like "there has been an accusation that someone at this house broke someone's car window and I have to investigate" .. Or something to that effect??

Windshields are cheap compared to this little damn window. The cheapest quote I can find currently is $175 for a used piece (don't mind the glass being used). There was a local place that quoted me $442 for a new piece which isn't going to happen :rlaugh: A windshield is half of that, or so the guy told me. He realized the price was crazy and didn't even try to get the sale :)

As for the cop leaving.. I'm not real sure currently what he "could" have done in that situation. I could see from outside of my house the the officer only stayed for very shortly then headed out. I find it strange that the guy at the house would have cussed the officer and told him to leave. That only makes it look worse on his part.

That could have very well been a .22, they don't make much noise when fired, are fairly accurate (compared to a BB gun) and probably have enough power at that range to do that kind of damage. I would think that a BB gun might just chip the glass, but not completely shatter it unless at very close range. As you drove by and the guy was out of your line of sight, he probably took aim and fired so that by the time you reacted, he was inside.

sounds like ass kickin time to me.
seriously thought that is really messed up that someone would shoot at a persons car while they were drivin. think if they had aimed forward, up, and the window was down.

Yep... You got that right! It'd be on like donkey kong till I beat some shooter safety into that ass.

They do make high power .22 cal bb guns don't they

Dude nix the mailbox idea :notnice: (Federal offense :nono: )

Borrow a video camera if you have access to one and try and catch them in the act. :nice:

Looks like a pellet/bb gun.

Sucks man. When I was little, we came home to find a hole in our kitchen window and a corresponding hole in our cabinet. Our neighbor decided it'd be fun to shoot a .22 at our house. The bullet was lodged in the cabinet.

people are so passive these days...i would have beat that F'ers head in with a baseball bat. calling the cops especially in mayberry will get you know where...your cop was too afraid to even do his job.
