Car Will Not Start

car will not start . it is a mass air car. it acts like it wants to start but will not. i have changed the cap and rotor and made sure the wires are hooked up right. i got it started the other day for about 30 seconds then it cut off and was back firing . the car has been sitting this winter. i start it up every once in a while. i hear the fuel pump cut on ,but maybe i have a bad pump or filter. fuel squirts out of the fuel rail but i have not check the pressure. if any body could give me any ideas of what my problem if or what else to check i would gradly appriecated it . thanks

Definitely sounds fuel related. Almost seems like there may be water in the gas. I would change the filter and put in some drygas.
