I went out to my car tonite and tried to start it wouldn't turn over. It fired up for about a second and then cut out. There was plenty of battery but the gas was very low. Its a 91' fox and the gas guage read inbetween the red and the first line, which I've driven at before with no problems on the way to the station. After it wouldn't start I put some gas in it and filled it to a quarter tank. Still the same thing. Earlier today the gas station was out of 91 so I put a few bucks of 87 in for the first time in a few months, but I doubt that would have anything to do with it. Oh, and I can hear the fuel pump priming.

Anybody have any idea as to whats going on? I have a job interview tomorrow and need the 'stang :(

It sounds like it does turn-over (aka Crank). See Jrichker's 'Cranks but no-start checklist' for the best way to methodically troubleshoot the systems.

Good luck.

Went back out to the car and the fuel pump wasn't priming anymore. A buddy of mine said to bang on the gas tank while someone cranked it over and it started within seconds. Don't really know how that worked, but it did and the car is back and running.
