Today after work I went to start my car, it would turn over but would stall. I tried starting again with my foot on the gas and it started and stayed running till I let off the gas. I tried driving out of work like that but as soon as I had to stop it would stall out. After 20 mins I decide to start it and give it a few good revs. After I revved it she stayed running like normal. I'm guessing my IAC is going south. I drove to the local garaged and they hooked up the computer to see if everything was normal and they said it was. They also said it is probably my IAC. If it is my IAC where can I get one at a decent price?

Give the IAC a couple sharp taps...

AutoZone IAC is $45.

Motorcraft IAC from the Ford parts counter is $90.

I suggest the Motorcraft one.

Yes clean it. Don't forget to clean the TB while you are there. I believe this is something many people overlook.

The throttle body has a coating on it that should not come in contact with any kijd of cleaner. A nice soft brushing should do the trick if you feel like you want to clean it.

Ok guys just got home for work. Changed the oil, put a new belt on and cleaned my IAC. Now I have quick question, the little black knob on the top of the IAC controls the idle right? If not what does it do?

The IAC is a solenoid actuated valve, the black plastic contains the electrical part of the solenoid.
