Hey guys, i finally got a 3 inch cowl hood and now i have room for a larger extreme air cleaner and a carb spacer, i wanted to know what one i should get, i have an edelbrock 600 cfm carb with the performer rpm intake....i also wanted to know how easy it is to install and some sort of directions would be appreciated.

Thanks again,
Matt

Just get one from your local auto parts store or out of summit. A 1" phenolic plastic one would work perfectly. Installation is simple. Get 2 new gaskets, remove the 4 bolts holding your carb down, then put a gasket down, then the spacer, then the other gasket, then the carb, and then tighten the bolts down to about 10ft/lbs.

If you need a little top end with that intake, you should use an open spacer.

If you had an intake that needed a little more vacuum signal to the carb, you would use a 4 hole.

From experience, I can say that the intake you have is low rpm targeted and using a 2" open spacer helped mine a little.

I run a 2" spacer and 5" air cleaner and still have about 1" on a 3" cowl on a 67" And yes open means no holes except the mounting ones. You can get them off eBay for about $13.00 + s&h. The sugestions you have already gotten are good. Get rid of that Edelbrock and go Demon!

My combo is vary close to yours except mine is a 347 stroker w/rpm2.02's. Drop some classes, return some books for deposits and get that Demon Anyway if money is an issue then you can get basicly the same spacer at a local part store (Kragen, Napa,Pep boy's ect.) for $10-$15 at least on the west coast.
