Looks like a typical tbi unit. Basically an electronic carb.

So is it worth it? What is the benefit? I was thinking of eventually trying to go back to EFI on my 88'. Seems like this may be easier if it has the same effect. I've never seen/heard of this, so trying to learn more.

GM used them heavily on their truck series up till about 95. If you want to go back to Efi I would seriously consider finding the correct 5.0 parts. With some digging I am sure you can get everything you need for less than that. Especially since the kit does not look like it comes with the injectors.

Well, I've started collecting EFI parts. The car is an 88' and the computer and main harness was pulled. In addition, some of the harness in the engine has been cut up.

So far I have:

  • A9L computer
  • 89' harness main harness
  • explorer throttle body
  • mass air sensor and meter
The engine has some mods, so I don't want the stock intake. Plus I need a bunch of sensors, etc. that will add up, and maybe a fuel pump. Seems like the link above would be easier. I am concerned I'll get into the stock conversion and learn more wiring is screwed up or run into some other issue. Those parts will add up quickly...

Does the above kit come with the wiring and Ecu? If not it would be cheaper to find a donor car and swap the harnesses and ecu over. Buy new sensors. Then sell the rest to get a better intake.

Those two parts are not comparable to each other. The DIY autotune part is just a throttle body, you would put that on a victor jr style intake with fuel injector bungs on it. The fast EZ EFI is like others said, an all inclusive package with injectors built in. Thats not the ideal setup, but i do think that the 4 barrel throttle bodies on a spider intake with injector bungs is the way to go on more serious NA applications.

Saying they flow serious air is also a very vague statement. They all flow similar ammounts of air, but runner length and air speed are also huge factors in the manifold performance.
