I was thinking of purchasing a carbon fiber drive shaft and wondered if anybody has had any experience with them.
Ive read they are 4 lbs lighter then aluminum, stronger than aluminum, 5% more power to the wheels, less road vibration.
The only down side i see is that if they are scratched or dented they are super weak and can shatter under the next heavy load.
Anybody have any thoughts?

Yeah they are like $800. Ditch that idea and get some cams better bang for the buck.

i contemplated one of those...they are just too expensive for what you get. i wound up with the aluminum.

the aluminum ds is definitely a better price/performance ratio. There was a site that had a dyno sheet proving the CF freed up a few more ponies to the wheels, but its just too dang expensive

if you want less wieght and rotational mass, just go with an aluminum. CF is for the big boys.

I also looked into the cf driveshaft found people had problems the cf coming apart where they meet the yokes.Aluminum is your best bet for a daily driver and cheaper.

Honestly, I'm of the opinion, if you're going to do it, do it right. I would get the CF one if I was contemplating that decision.

To me, $400 difference, when you really step back and take a look, isnt all that much. Why not go all the way? You almost certainly won't pick up a CF one down the road if you get an alluminum one now. This is also coming from a guy who makes $8 an hour, however, I am not trying to make this decision either

Yeah i read some where that they equiped a fleet of garbage trucks with them to test the continuous high torque stop and go. And another thing, i dont think iv ever had my 2000 GT wheel hop on me. Maybe a little bit of quick chirping as i leave the line at the strip but thats it. im looking to get upper and lowers soon any way. i like BBK Gripp with greasable fittings.

Isnt MM the ones that are completely adjustable. if so i probably wont buy them. im afraid to adjust my suspention and mess it up. i think of it in terms of setting your own caster and camber.

get the CF driveshaft. if you are already considering it, just do it. its been a proven good thing. i will be getting one myself when i get to that part of my car. its not "for high power only" cars... its good stuff in general. pricy, sure... worth it, arguable.... good product... yes.
