I am considering buying a cabon fiber hood for my 04 GT. I am wondering if anyone here has any experience with them. I know that there are a few manufactures out there and I am concerned about fitment. I know with fiberglass that you can expect to do some fillinf/sanding to set he panel gaps. I am not planning on painting the hood so I want to make sure that I get a good fit right out of the box. Any help would be great.

I have a 95 cobra r style cf hood...fit and quality is great
but as with any aftermarket hood/body part there may be issues getting it to fit correctly...i used to do paint and body work and we had to modify a ton of aftermarket parts to get them to fit
my hood for example, i had to shave the hood latch area to get the hood latch to even fit in cause the hood in that area was too thick... also all but one bolt lined up where the hood bolted to the hinge.. i had to fisheye the hole on the hinge to line it up correctly with the pre drilled hole in the hood...
not saying every hood is going to be that way, just dont expect it to fit right the first time....but im sure if you buy with ebcexclusive or cervinis, your chances of having a bum fitting hood will be fairly slim

I took a look at HO Fibertrands website and they look pretty impressive. I saw a lot of fiberglass hoodslistedbut I did not see any carbon fiber, do they make them?
From what I was told the Seibon carbon fiber hood has excellent
fitment.My friend bought one on Andy's site.

Ive got a VIS Y2K Cobra hood on my car. Bought it used for like $300. The "Custom" shop I used had to adjust the fenders all the way down so the fit wasn't perfect but you cant tell unless you were told about it. Looked great for awhile until the paint on the hood bubbled 
so I took it back they re-sprayed it and a while later the paint cracked.
Needless to say just make sure you use somebody that knows what they're doing when you get the hood painted. The only real complaint I have other than the joke of a shop I had paint it is I get alot of cowl shake. I hope than when I put my hood pins on it will cut that down alot.
