Carpet dye

had no luck with a search. I need some info on carpet dye. Where to get it, reccomended brands and is it even worth it? The carpet in my girls 86 is red, but in great shape. We going to an all black interior and Id hate to buy a new carpet when the one in there is perfect, just the wrong color.

Buy the new carpet...

My brother died my old red carpet for a temporary fix. He went through 5-6 cans of fabric and vinyl dye and the carpet was still very red looking. He picked up a black carpet and has been happy ever since.

There might be better dyes out there, but the Dupont stuff was easy to get. Needless to say after spending $30-40 on the dye, and not getting a black carpet, it is probably smarter to just buy a used or new black carpet.

I used that duplicolor fabric dye. On my grey carpet, and if wears off pretty fast.

i think ill take all your advice. bite the bullet and buy some new carpet. im putting enough time and money into the stangs as it is, no point in cutting corners. thanks for the help!
