Hey, I was looking on 50resto.com, and saw their carpet kits. I am going to buy a complete carpet off of there. How hard is it to replace? It doesn't look that hard, remove both seats and center console, some minor other things. Has anyone done it before? How long did it take? And another question will black carpet look ****ty with tan and black interior?

You got it, not hard to do just time consuming... you have to remove everything. Proabably takes the better part of a weekend with jsut one peroson.

As for a black carpet in that interior, it's yoru car but I think it wouldn't look right. i would go same color or get rid of the tan.

I changed my carpet last fall and it wasnt that hard to do , youo just have to do a little trimming with a razor blade because they give you lots of extra and you have to also punch holes for the seat track bolts to go thru.

I went from a grey carpet to a black carpet but I have also changed seats to 01 cobra seats.

i would say it takes about an afternoon, with a break or two, if youve had pieces of your interior out before. pretty simple
:stupid: I swapped my dirty tan carpet out with a clean one I got from a junkyard, and I did it in an afternoon. I'm also really familiar with removing the interior parts, so it was really easy. Before you do any cutting, I would definitely mark the holes first. Then compare the marked holes to the ones on the old carpet. Should help you from cutting too much off by mistake.

So has anyone ever heard of putting a black carpet into tan interior? I'm kind of scared. I mean the top half is black, maybe it would match? Inputs anyone?

I plan to go with black carpet (maybe do it next winter) in my tan interior. But I also plan to paint a lot of the interior black, and maybe eventually get fresh black leather for the seats too. Tan just does not do it for me.

If you really want the black, go for it. If you are just doing it for wear, go with tan. You can always redo the carpet after 4 or 5 years when it gets ratty again.

I just did mine a few weekends ago w/ a friend and it wasent to hard. When you get it take it out of the box it will be all stuffed in there and let it air out for awhile. Take out the seats, center console, unbolt where the seat belts go into that are between the seats and the console, you need a torx bit to do that I belive its a 45 that will also undo the brackets that hold down the rear seat belts. Take off the kick pannels as well. When putting it in the most PITA part was cutting the holes for the bolts in the seat, cut the holes big enogh the first time around so your not going back to have and do it again. If you have any questions feel free to PM me the process is still pretty clear in my head since I just did it.
