I had CC plates installed a few weeks ago, they did a horrible job, I had to get my money back and take it somewhere else (posted thread and pics about this). The second shop did a great job but I'm starting to notice a knocking sound from the passenger side plate. I know the sounds my car makes and I know it has to be a plate issue. I really don't want to take it to the shop again so I'm posting in hopes that this is something I can look into myself (not a total noob, I've done headers and much harder projects). Only thing is I don't have impact wrench. Could this be a spacer issue? it only knocks on bumps and dips in the road

could be a spacer problem. one of my army buddies had some c/c plates he installed himself and complained about the same issue. he brought it over and i took a look at it. Turned out when he installed them, there was an issue with the passenger strut. when he tightened down the nut it didn't seat the spacers correctly. after he went over his first bump the strut was loose and began rattle around. i jacked the car up, removed the strut (easy b/c he also had coil overs), re set everything the way it needed to be and put her all back together. after another alignment he never had a problem again.

Thanks for the replies. They are "shark" cc plates, I can't remember for sure who makes them but they weren't the most expensive and I knew a few stangs that had installed them w/ no issues. I'm thinking it might be a spacer issue as well, though I'm not sure. The struts are stock, btw. It seems that only the passenger side is doing it and it's whenever I hit some sort of bump or dip in the road. Thanks for the help...hopefully this is something I can take care of myself, let me know what you all think
