New Struts/Caster Camber Plates Install

Ok... I got the driver's side on.

I could not get the factory strut bolt off of the stock plate so I took the whole plate out together. As a result, I was unable to get the stock "boot" that goes around the top of the strut. Is this important?

Also, in the instructions it mentioned a "bump guard" and I was unsure what that was.

Here are the pics of what I have so far:

Look good or am I missing something?

Yep, your missing the bump guard and you definitely need the dust cover. A wrench and a flat tip screw driver has always worked for me while removing the top strut nut.

The screwdriver and wrench works real well if someone didn't use an impact gun to put them on . Like decurtis mentioned, you need the rubber piece.

Ok,

I played around with the old parts and some things did not make sense.

When I placed the "dust cover" from the old shock onto the new one, there was nothing on the new shock to hold the dust cover against the strut tower so it slid down around the shock and left the top portion of the strut exposed anyway.

As far as the "bump guard" is concerned, I placed it on the strut, when I pushed the strut all the way down, the strut bottomed out before it hit the "bump guard" rubber.

Because of these two things, I have decided to leave them off. Do they have an after market replacement that I could purchase?

Will it hurt anything leaving these things off?
