I lowered my 96 mustang gt and am trying to get it back in alignment. Thinking i will just get caster camber plates but not sure which would be best or if i should get steel or aluminum. Also anyone know if this will be enough to align it properly. At the shop they want me to buy drop spindles.

Also is there anything else i should get with the caster camber plates to complete my task?

They just make the steel ones though correct? I looked into there until i saw they were steel and then i was kinda of unsure. Don't want them to rust either

Only rust you might get is where the mechanic scuffs the coating... Nothing too bad... Go with MM... They are 4 bolt adjustable.. will give you ALL the alignment you need to get it rolling upright and straight again... 4 bolt adjust is the main thing.. some only have 2, those suck.

If you are doing springs, and are already going to do C&C Plates (good idea) go ahead and bite the bullet and do your shocks/struts.... It'll save you money by doing them now and you will notice a huge increase in handling. No matter if you are a drag guy or a corner carver, don't skimp on the shocks/struts... Dampers make a HUGE difference...

I don't care more for the corners. The springs are going to drop the car 2 inches so what do you all recommend. I wanna get this out of the way before I start messing with the motor again. I put in a 2003 gt motor a couple years back and it is reading missfire and o2 sensor. Just started bout a month ago.

Confirm which bushings you are talking about. The bushings that support the rack can be replaced.

For any other problems, replace the entire steering rack. A re-man unit is not that $$ and is cheaper than servicing the components. In the end, the new rack will give better service.

you can replace the inner tie rods also if they are bad. the inners and outers are very simple to replace.

BTW steeda plates SUCK. i did alignments for 6 years and i would ONLY recommend MM plates. the others are compltet crap and the steeda doesnt give you much camber adjustment at all. the are pretty similar to a stock plate but just adding a caster adjustment

If you are dropping 2" (too much in my opinion) invest in a bumpsteer kit and a set of X2 ball joints.. will realign your front end... you will be glad you did... Even if you are a straight line guy, you need these... otherwise you will prematurely wear out other pieces of the front end PLUS who wants the car trying to steer itself (i.e. bump steer) when running 80+ mph...
