catalitic converters and resinators do i need them

well not strick i am out in nowere florida and i was reading and found out the first two are resinator for reduction of sound so they can go for sure but i head bad and good things about taking the cats off

I think the front two are referred to as precats and do function as a means of reducing emissions (as far as the EPA is concerned, we have 4 cats in OEM form).

An O/R pipe sounds like it's what you want. :)

Good luck.

my main thing i am tyring to find out is will i lose power taking the cats or should i just get high performance cats
It's up to you. High flow cats will not hinder performance for all but about the nastiest of street cars. The stock H-pipe diameter leaves something to be desired though.

I dont know who said that removing the cats (and installing a straight pipe in their place) could cause you to lose power. Some folks kinda get backpressure and exhaust scavenging confused though.............

If considering removing cats, I'd get an O/R pipe.

MHO.
Good luck.

summit racing will sell a h-pipe for around 110 bucks.bolts right up,gets rid of your cats and is 2.5 in diameter, really frees up your flow and sounds great.i put that and mac pro dumps(muffler)on and you can feel the differance.also sounds great.as long as you dont test emissions your good to go.hope that helps.
